Modern Slavery statement for the financial year ended 30 September 2019

While Travelworld Vacations Ltd (Olympic Holidays) is outside the scope of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, it supports the aims and objectives of the Act and therefore makes this statement voluntarily:

Olympic Holidays recognises that modern slavery and human trafficking are global issues challenging to businesses worldwide. We are committed to a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings.

Our business and supply chains

We are a tour operator specialising in travel and tourism to a range of destination, mainly in Europe, but including destinations such as Turkey, Goa (India) and The Gambia (Africa). We are continually expanding our destination range.

We have over 1,000 suppliers internationally; and endeavour to secure transparency in our supply chains and to ensure that the risk of slavery and human trafficking is mitigated.

We conduct ongoing and open dialogues with our suppliers and request from supplier senior management that they are satisfied that key operations have suitable preventative measures in place to prevent modern slavery and, where applicable, we work with our suppliers to ensure that preventative measures are in place. In addition, we regularly review our contractual terms to ensure suppliers are required to implement and manage processes to prevent modern slavery. We also monitor suppliers.

Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

We identify and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking by: 

• Assessing risk areas in our supply chains and obtaining audit reports where perceived necessary on supply chains that are deemed to be at risk.

Supplier adherence to our values

We have a zero-tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking and expect our suppliers and contractors to uphold the same values. We will not do business knowingly with anyone engaged in slavery and human trafficking practices or knowingly permit them to be carried out in any part of our business. We are reviewing all our standard supplier terms and conditions with the intention of updating them to include applicable anti-slavery provisions.

Training

To ensure all our staff overseas understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we assist them through relevant training to recognise, report and preventing exploitation.

Our effectiveness in combating slavery and human trafficking

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the Group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2018.
