Lassi is situated on the south west of the island of Kefalonia and has some of the best beaches on the island, including Makris Yialos, which boasts some excellent facilities. Get active with some watersports on your Lassi Kefalonia holiday or chill out on the quieter, sandy beaches that are just along the coast, only 20 minutes by car.
A laidback resort, there are plenty of tavernas along Lassi’s main street where you can sip some local wine and watch the sun go down, but if you’re looking for a change of scene and pace, you can take a stroll or a short taxi ride to the capital Argostoli, only three kilometres away, to get your fix of lively nightlife.
Being the biggest resort in Kefalonia, there’s plenty to keep you occupied, but you’ll want to get out and explore more of the whole island and Lassi’s the place from which to do this, with all excursions picking up from here. Pack a picnic and head out on a boat trip or have a go at horse riding. Why not visit the Katavothres Sea Mills, the island’s biggest attraction and puzzle over this geographical phenomenon with a Greek coffee in the café? Just how does the seawater disappear down a hole and emerge in the Melissani Lake, 15 kilometres uphill?
Grape lovers will enjoy the Robola Wine Festival, an annual celebration of wine that takes place the 3rd week in August in the quaint village of Fragata. Only 20 minutes away, It’s a great way to enjoy some Greek culture, bouzouki music and perhaps some grilled goat and feta cheese, all washed down with some delicious local Robola wine.
