Karavados is a delightful village that stands at the foot of mount Ainos, surrounded by pine trees, olive groves and citrus groves. It’s close to the southern coast of Kefalonia between Argostoli and Skala. It is just 15 minutes drive from both the airport and the capital.
Description
The village has a large church at the centre and a number of private properties as well a mini market and a restaurant. It is all about the scenery and spectacular views over the south coast of the island.
If you are looking for beaches, there is Agios Thomas beach down the road and Trapezaki beach a few minutes a long the coast. There are also several beaches near Karavados where you can enjoy a bit of seclusion from the crowds of the tourist beaches, it is worth exploring on your own.
