Two of the most photographed attractions on Corfu are Vlacherna Monastery & Mouse Island (Pontikonissi), which you can access from Kanoni which sits above Corfu Town, with steps that lead you to the small church of Panagia Vlacherna, built in the 17th century with an impressive wooden-carved iconostasis and beautiful frescoes inside with a tall bell tower overlooking the church and just a 5mins boat ride further from the church is the legendary Mouse Island where fishing boats regularly cross from between the church and the island. This lush green island, so called named due to its small size, is held in Greek mythology as the ship of Ulysses that was stoned by Poseidon, God of the sea and waters. In the centre of the Mouse Island, there is the 13th-century church of Pantokrator.
