Lefkaritiko Embroidery: The tradition of embroidery in Lefkara, known globally as "Lefkaritiko," dates back centuries. Its history is believed to have begun between 1191 and 1571, when noblewomen from the West taught Lefkara’s women the fine art of embroidery. According to legend, Leonardo Da Vinci visited Lefkara in 1841 and took one of these embroideries for the Duomo in Milan. A similar piece was gifted to the Duomo on October 19, 1986, for its 600th anniversary. Lefkaritiko embroidery reached its artistic peak in the 1920-1930s, recognized as some of the finest handiwork globally. This distinction is further validated by its inclusion in UNESCO's list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since October 2010.
Architecture: At the southern lower point of Lefkara lies a spring with year-round running water, known locally as Pigi or "Pii." The village likely originated around this spring, making the area of Pigi the nucleus of the first settlement.
